The CPC's agreement for insurance and/or insurance related services, designed primarily for use by Academies, Free Schools and Academy Trusts. Insurance products and services are available directly from insurers, via brokers, or using a mixture of both. Insurance against risk, loss and damage includes covers provided by the ESFA Risk Protection Arrangement (RPA) and beyond:

  • Employers liability insurance
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • Public and products liability
  • Motor vehicle insurance (including motor sport, trade, and occasional business use)
  • Engineering and plant inspection services insurance
  • Works insurance
  • Business and student travel (including overseas travel) insurance
  • Personal accident insurance
  • Works of art insurance
  • Property damage, including IT equipment, money, refrigerated/frozen food, property in transit
  • Terrorism insurance
  • Loss due to employee dishonesty or crime by third parties
  • Damage to plant
  • Legal expenses
  • Employment practices liability
  • Hirers liability
  • Cyber liability

It was awarded on 1st July 2016 and runs to 30th June 2019 with a possible extension to 30th June 2020.

The Department for Education (DfE) recommend this deal to Schools and Academies.

Academies Questionnaire

This is the key document that you need to complete as part of your market presentation for the panel of providers. It allows you to describe your academy and its insurance requirements in a format that the insurers will readily understand, so that they can prepare their priced proposals. The last page comprises a model covering letter which is designed to be amended to suit your individual requirements.

CPC will be happy to review your completed Questionnaire before you send it to the providers, if you wish. When you have finalised the questionnaire, you should email it to the providers and allow them at least 4 weeks to respond with their proposals.
